Chris Craft 1949 Sportsman Delux

Chris Craft 1949 Sportsman Delux

This beautiful vessel was built in the Chris Craft Factory in Algonac, Michigan. She was delivered into New York in March 1950 to her new owner. After 6 years of searching the world, the current owner found her partly restored in a shed in Reno, Nevada. The previous owner was nearing the end of the restoration process when he unfortunately passed away. The vessel was then shipped into Sydney, Australia in January 2012 and was named 'Eileen'. Since landing in Australia 'Eileen's' restoration has now been completed. Inclusions in her current restoration: - Full rebuild of the engine by Sydney Vintage Car Restorations using new/old parts imported from the USA. The engine was rebuilt to the original specifications. - New 'original' gauges - Re-alignment of engine - Re-pitch of propeller - Re-wire of vessel by Sydney Marine Electronics - the current owner decided to upgrade the original wiring for safety reasons. They also installed a second 12 volt electrical system which runs the bilge pumps, blowers, and hidden stereo system. All modern additions have been completed in such a way as it can all be removed within 2 hours to bring it back to a factory optioned boat. - Re-upholstered in 2014 with Ultra fabrics which is as close to the original as possible. - Re-polished in 2014 These days 'Eileen' can be seen most weekends cruising Middle Harbour and the Hawkesbury River. When she is not on the water she is kept in a shed. 'Eileen' was fitted with a new custom built Easy-Tow galvanised trailer in December 2017. Her current owner now has another project and would like to move 'Eileen' onto a deserving owner.
